THE NOVEL DREAMHOUSE relates the story of an ideal young suburban family wracked by the nationwide upheavals that swept country in the late Sixties and early Seventies. The independent-minded young wife, struggling to fit into her role as wife and mother, is drawn to join the erupting protest movements for individual rights of wives and mothers. Her attempt to challenge the safe, conventional life she leads is swept off balance when her young son is killed in a tragic accident, causing her to reevaluate her core values.
THESE TWO CONSECUTIVE MEMOIRS depict the years of the Forties, Fifties and early Sixties back when family life, child discipline, and sexual standards were arbitrary and rigid. A rebellious young girl struggles in Minneapolis and later New York City to break through the rigid conventional norms of the times as she deals with family, career, sex, and affairs of the heart.
